Beef
Throughout the year we do offer beef (mostly grass fed). For information on beef pricing, processing and pickup call or message us!
Bulls
We do occasionally rent our bulls instead of selling outright. This gives smaller start up operations the chance to utilize a quality bull at an affordable rate.
Cows
Each year we sell a select number of cows and heifers. Message us anytime to see what we have available.
Salers history and our Salers today.
Welcome to Williams Ozark Cattle Company (WOCC). In addition to raising bird dogs we also manage a second generation cattle farm. Our herd, which averages around 100 head annually consists of registered Salers and commercial Salers cross cattle.
The pure bred and hybrid vigor of Salers and Salers cross cattle have proven to us time and time again to be unbeatable.
If you are not familiar with the Salers breed we have included a bit of history below and details about our herd specifically.
We offer calves, pairs, bulls, steers, and beef all from our herd. Full blood salers, salers/angus and other crosses.

Salers history
Salers are one of the most recent European breeds imported to North America. The breed has records dating back hundreds of years. This long-standing history makes the breed one of the oldest and most genetically pure of all European breeds.
These facts also marked a positive effect on the predictability of Salers in crossbreeding program in North America.
The breed, native to France for hundreds of years, was forced to become well adapted to rough terrain and harsh climates. They are foragers with bred-in-range-ability to utilize, almost entirely, grass in the summer and hay in the winter. Not requiring extra care, grain, or maintenance at all to sustain.

In the1970's, North American cattlemen were looking for new breeds to improve American beef cattle. In their search, a group of Canadians and Americans were impressed by Salers in France and eventually imported the first Salers bull, Valliant, into Canada in 1972. His semen was sold both in the United States and Canada and a new chapter in efficient beef production was about to begin.

Grassroots cattlemen were the breed's U.S. founders. They felt the cattle should prove themselves under the tough rigors and conditions of the commercial cattle industry before Salers were widely marketed. The breed was equal to the challenge. Salers created a strong market interest and excitement within the commercial cattle industry.
This led to the historical formation of the American Salers Association in 1974 by 14 innovative and progressive cattlemen in Minneapolis, Minn. The Association is guided today by 12 breeders who see Salers and Salers influenced genetics as a key to maintain a balanced approach to a profitable beef production.

With more than a decade of solid growth behind it in North America, the Salers breed continues to make lasting contributions to modern commercial cattle production.
Documented proof of the breed's attributes through recognized research institutions and universities, assure Salers to continue with a bright future and a viable role in American beef cattle production.
